Creamy Salad Dressing Variations

Here is a basic recipe for a creamy style salad dressing that you can alter with different flavorings to complement various style foods.

 

For the base recipe:

¼ cup mayonnaise

¼ cup sour cream

¼ cup buttermilk

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

2 teaspoons white wine vinegar

Instructions:

More suggestions: 

To accompany chili or other spicy foods including Asian flavors:

2 teaspoons ground cumin

¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

 

For a Caesar salad-type dressing:

A small clove of garlic, minced and smashed

¼ teaspoon anchovy paste

2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

 

For an herb-infused dressing:

You can use any combination of these herbs to make about 2 tablespoons total

A few drops of Tabasco or another hot sauce

 

You can store leftover dressing in a covered jar in the refrigerator. It won’t keep indefinitely, but should be good for about a week.
