Luxuries

 A blender – You may want to consider a blender for making smoothies, pureed soups, ice cream sodas, crushed ice. If your use will be mostly for soups and sauces you may want to consider an immersion blender, which is a powered stick that will do its blending in any vessel. It takes up a lot less room than a full appliance and does not give you another bowl to clean.

 Food processors - These machines do amazing things, like chopping, slicing or pureeing food in seconds or kneading bread. Consider, though, how you feel about its footprint taking up counter space, and whether you prefer to wash it parts over taking a few minutes to chop, slice or knead by hand.

 Bread machine – You can easily get hooked on homemade bread, and then you’ll want one. You can set up the ingredients in just a couple of minutes, and then enjoy freshly baked bread made to your taste. They are also great for making bread and pizza dough that you shape by hand and bake in your oven.
